The Rapper In Me

You know about umpteen years ago. Me and my cousin Profit J. were talking about music. Eventually the conversation turned to the kinds of dudes putting out records at the time. Hammer and Vanilla Ice were big then.

So and idea formed... Obviously talent was no longer needed to secure a contract! So me and he were thinking about forming a rap group!

Were were gonna call ourselves No Talent Individuals! The first single was gonna be entitled In It For The Money. On the album Mo Money To Get The Hunnies! He was gonna be Profit Jay. I was gonna be Unpoetic Lou. Our main hook was to sample Elvis songs. We were gonna be the crossover kings. We would have made a mint!

Ah the days...

Should have did that shit though!!!

You shoulda jumped on that bandwagon and put on a tune or two! All you woulda needed was a dance routine, and catchy hook...and you woulda made loadsa money!

In fact, that's pretty much what they're putting out now....you and Profit Jay should revisit this idea....you never know! LOL!

if you and your cousin tried that today, you'd be millionaires! :-)

But hey nowadays if monkeys like solja boy or how eva its spelled can make dough i bet you'd make it.

Lol...you should have done it. You could have been a gazillionaire by now. If Plies can do it, so can you...

@ Dreamy - Well, you couldn't have been first for the last three days. You needed some power for that! But I am so glad you are back.

@ Tom_Gurl - Dance routine? Uh uh! Did you see any of them dudes who are me wearing dancing clothes of any kind? Nah. We would have to hire background dancers.

Of course we could get back at it. The album title would have to change to Back From Nowhere. And the original album title would have to be the second single. The third of course would be "40 Year Old Rap Stars" Hmm...

@ Blkbutterfly - Yeah, I know! Damn! Bad planning! We could have made a mint linking the songs to the election!

@ Jaila - Hellz Yeah! Who else do white folk love more than Elvis? We ain't trying for real Hip Hop, we going for Crossover Hip Hop. The stuff that the wannabes will want to cop!

@ The Addict - Y'all know I was mad den a muhfugga when Hard Knock Life came out!

Word? Can I be down? I can be MC Squared!!! Imagine the matching Elvis Jumpsuits!!!

Desy said...

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm sorry, I just imagined Rah in the Elvis Jumpsuit and i couldn't contain the laughter....

@ Dejanae - I think we could make that non smiling thing work with the act too!

@ Diva - Hell the Elvis songs are what would have kicked us into the stratosphere! Hell they might have used our version for the theme to Las Vegas!

@ Southern - Yeah. I know... What does that say about the current state of Hip Hop?

@ Byg - The cool part about the ladies in the video is that I am sure we could get plenty of volunteers from around here just hanging out around the clubs...

@ Ms. B. - I don't know. Y'all all thought I was losing my damn mind the last time I felt a little musical in a lazy blog. Kinda skeptical on the samples...

@ Rashan - Yeah. You can get down too. With a name like that, most def... But you will be contractually obligated to NOT turn into R-Jizzy or nobody like that. Of course you will have to recant that post about being 40 and a rapper... Jumpsuits huh?

@ Desy - Me too. Or me in one for that matter!

i will give you a month's pay to see that. make it happen!

Ladynay said...

Yall need to go ahead and do that! Don't forget the cheesy dance routine so the younger generation can dance to it! No body is sampling Elvis!

Can I be a roadie?

The Second Sixty-Eight said...

@ Nikki - Really? How much you get paid?

@ Ladynay - A roadie? Sure. But only bring fine big booty chicks to the dressing room. Blondes need not apply. And if they wear glasses that ain't a bad thing either. I gotta have brainy big booty groupies! You know how I do it! We will see about the cheezy dance... Might just make a hustle song then...

This is my first visit here. Funny post... and then again not so funny because you may have hit it BIG.

I also see some blasphemy going on in this post... Hammer?? No talent?? That brotha could dance his azz off. Did we really care what he was saying once he started dancing. LOL

Then there's Vanilla Ice... a whole 'nother story.

You probably can STILL make that one happen. A hot beat and no one will hear the words. LOL!

Jameil said...

hahahaha. praise Jesus that idea died!!! lolol it would've cost a ridiculous amt of money to get sample rights for elvis!

LadyLee said...

Ya'll should have done it. Look at Lil' Wayne. Dang, you should've done it!

Jazzy said...

ahem...time for a new post. yeah you agree right? of course you do!

The Second Sixty-Eight said...

@ Bond... Hawa Bond - Welcome! Yeah I just reminded him of that the other day and he got a good laugh out of it.
Blasphemy? Um no... In the rap game you need to rap if you ain't the backup. LOL!

@ Mrs. TJ - You might be right... Wait... Did I just read... Hey Iowa!!! Does this mean you remembered where your blog is? Your once a quarter post is up maybe? Imma gonna have to stop thinking about writing and read...

@ Jameil - Um. Who said it died? Comatose maybe... The rights might have been costly but imagine the returns! I mean Elvis is like the white 2 Pac! But there are many many more white folk! You do the math!

@ Ladylee - So you saying I could be on the cover of Hip Hop Lifestyles magazine instead of Weezy? My flows would kick his off the radio? I would have to walk around with ridiculous amount of jewelry on because I ain't got shit else to do with my money than LOOK rich? Hmm... I may have to take one for the team! Just to save radio and all...

@ Diva - Why you gotta come in here messing with me when I am in a writing mood? The dang post would have been up if my computer wasn't acting a jackass this morning...
But I am here to write BEFORE I read today. According to the schedule, I am nine posts behind...
I shall have at least one up JUST FOR YOU today. Even if it is a short one... Lemme go and see if you wrote anything jack worthy...

Jazzy said...

LOL...just for me huh?! Can't wait!

You could write about how school is going...you know there's always some really OFF classmate or professor to make fun of!

The Second Sixty-Eight said...

Well if you are gonna read my mind then why write the posts?

See. We on the SAME page...

Right after I get my 9/11 post done...
